Severe, Stark, Blunt
Betrayal merges the world of medieval dressmaking techniques and silhouettes with contemporary streetwear. This garment was inspired by my obsession with fantasy costume design in TV shows like Game of Thrones. The color palette represents the dark, dangerous, and hidden terrors of Game of Thrones’ historical fantasy reinterpretation. Betrayal redefines the traditional display of class that drove the middle ages through emphasis on darker mood, fit, hem, and cut. This garment was entirely upcycled out of ‘second hand’ felted wool, woven pinstripe wool, genuine leather, and satin woven bed sheets that were hand-dyed crimson.
